Abstract
Al-wala' wa-l-bara' is a concept in Islam, literally meaning "loyalty and disavowal", which signifies loving and hating. Jihadi Salafists believe in this concept and consider it as one of the fundamentalbeliefs considering many Muslims as infidels because of not adhering to it. According to them, any act of compassion, kindness and cooperation is tantamount to going out of the fold of Islam. The killings and massacre of Muslims is one of the evil consequences of this belief. The incorrectness of considering al-wala' wal-bara' as a principle, the permissibility of showing love and cooperating with non-Muslims and the emphasis that Islam places on showing kindness and sympathy to non-Muslims are the most important criticisms facing the Takfiri groups' opinion.
