Considering the Ibn Taymiyyah Allegation on Shia about the heresy of prophets' companions

bn Taymiyyah in his famous book, al-Minhaj al-Sunnah, accused most of the Shia that they believe in heresy of all prophet's companions. It seems that his proof for this allege is a hadith that its superficial meaning is that all companions were abjured after the holy prophet Muhammad (PBH). But we must know that the meaning of this hadith is not as intended Ibn Taymiyyah. The literal meaning of this hadith is that after the death of Holy prophet less than 7 companions remained loyal to their religions. It must be known that this the word "heresy" and withdrawing from Islam does not mean that they are being excluded from Islam. It means that after the holy prophet, they were not loyal to Imam Ali (PBH) and it has nothing to do with the literal meaning of this hadith. The Shia proof is that after that the companions understood their mistake and came to Imam Ali, he treated them as Muslims and not apostates.
