From Ibn Taymiyyah's point of view, the scope of the infallibility of the prophets means that they are infallible in receiving and declaring the revelation. Although he claimed consensus in this issue and provide some reasons for that, but by accepting the myth of Gharaniq, he spoiled this viewpoint. Regarding the infallibility of the prophets from polytheism and disbelief before the revelation coming to them, he takes a double standard, believing in both infallibility and non-infallibility of the prophets, maintaining that it is possible for the prophets to err, but after their repentance their status raises and the sin cannot remain with the prophets. This research, with a descriptive-analytical method, intends to read the scope and dimensions of the infallibility of the prophets from Ibn Taymiyyah's point of view. The results are as the following: firstly: Ibn Taymiyyah's view in this issue arises from his hatred and resentment towards the Shiites, not reason and logic. Secondly: he undermines the goals of the prophets and their educational role. Thirdly: it nullifies the purpose of the sending the prophets. Fourthly: this theory is incompatible with the divine wisdom.
